2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Jim Hogan, Northstar Project & Real Estate Services

Jim Hogan
Senior Project Manager
Northstar Project & Real Estate Services

Number of years at firm:

One thing on my bucket list: Traveling to New Zealand

When I am not working, I am: Either hiking or skiing.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? The redevelopment of the MIT/Kendall Sq. MBTA Station. For the past five years, I have managed on behalf of MITIMCo the redevelopment of 6,000 s/f owned by three parties – MIT, city of Cambridge, and the state of Massachusetts. Facilitating an atmosphere of problem solving, the team was challenged with a complex entitlements process resulting in multiple granting authorities: structure permitted by the state and 160-foot-long canopy permitted by Cambridge. The outcome is a new gateway to MIT’s campus, an enhanced MBTA experience for the community and lifelong relationships with institutional, city, state, and private entities in the real estate industry.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Jim manages over one MSF of real estate initiatives. He focuses on his personal brand and knowledge, taking continuing education courses. Jim consistently provides strategic project management delivering a predictable outcome. He is vice chairman of Wakefield’s Planning Board spearheading the MBTA 3A Multifamily Overlay District initiative while raising his family.”  - Lee Burneson, Principal at Northstar Project & Real Estate Services
