2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Jeremy Baldwin, AIA, Maugel DeStefano Architects

Jeremy Baldwin, AIA
Multifamily Studio Manager
Maugel DeStefano Architects

Number of years at firm: 6

One thing on my bucket list: Visit Norway to see the Northern Lights.

When I am not working, I am: Spending time with my daughters and attending their sporting events, hiking, traveling, and home renovation.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? I am most proud of the work our multifamily studio has accomplished over the past four years. During that time, our team has designed more than 3,000 units of housing ranging from affordable to luxury. These projects often have an uphill battle with heavy community opposition. Our team does a lot of community outreach throughout the permitting process which makes us a vital advocate for approvals. As a planning board member in my hometown, I strongly advocate for more housing choices to combat the housing shortage in Massachusetts. It’s incredibly fulfilling when these new developments become part of the community.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?

“Jeremy is a rising star due to his outstanding contributions to Maugel DeStefano Architects. A passionate relationship builder and mentor, Jeremy is the driving force behind the firm’s exponential growth in the multifamily sector. His recent promotion to Multifamily Studio Lead acknowledges his strategic vision, superb client advocacy skills, and commitment to design excellence.” - Mark Pelletier, AIA, Owner/Principal at Maugel DeStefano Architects

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.

The 2024 CRE markets: “The Ups” (industrial) and “The Downs” (Boston class B/C office) - by Webster Collins
