2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Jake Murphy, Vantage Builders

Jake Murphy
Assistant Project Manager
Vantage Builders

Number of years at firm: 2

One thing on my bucket list: I love to travel and one to do on my bucket list is to visit every continent. I have traveled to four of the seven continents, with only South America, Australia and Antarctica to go.

When I am not working, I am: I am usually either taking day trips to small towns around New England, spending time with family and friends, or going down to Rhode Island for a beach day.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? A recent accomplishment I am proud of is having completed my first project as project manager. During this transition, I was exposed to new challenges that I had not faced as a project engineer. I managed our onsite superintendent and subcontractors, while coordinating and driving the schedule to meet the client’s target grand opening date. I am proud of the team that worked on the project and I am very glad to say that Vantage Builders will be working with this client again on their second facility.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?

“Jake has established himself as a real asset to our organization. He is a pleasure to collaborate with on projects and always goes above and beyond expectations. He is often the glue on his projects, coordinating among the Vantage team, our client, and the subcontractors to ensure that the project is on target. Jake holds himself to a professional standard, is extremely respectful to all members of the team, and has the confidence and experience to take matters into his own hands when needed.” - Joe Carreiro, Director of Operations at Vantage Builders

The New Hampshire commercial real estate landscape has experienced notable fluctuations in recent years. Within the office sector, there has been a consistent uptick in available space since 2020, attributed to a wave of companies downsizing or closing their New Hampshire operations. However,
