2022 Women in Commercial Real Estate: Pamela Abreu Aybar, DiPrete Engineering

Pamela Abreu Aybar
Assistant Project Manager
DiPrete Engineering

What advice would you offer to women getting into the CRE industry?
Be confident in who you are, what you offer, and own your space. Our tendency as women is to sometimes feel overwhelmed by our surroundings, especially in a male dominated profession. It may be hard to speak up at times, but don’t be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes – it will make you better in the long run. Most importantly, know what you bring to the table. Find your voice and own your power.

What has been your biggest challenge and how have you faced it?
One of my biggest challenges has been earning the same respect men receive for doing essentially the same thing. Over time this has triggered some self-doubt and difficulties feeling assured of my capabilities. With the support of colleagues, communication training, and other strong women in the industry, I am now able to voice my opinions with confidence and demand the respect I deserve.
