2022 Women in Construction: Megan Kukal Sabourin, Senior Project Manager at J. Calnan & Associates

Megan Kukal Sabourin

Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? Knowledge/ Growth - I was in the process of getting my architecture degree when I was blessed with a co-op in heavy highway construction. Before that time, I had never dreamed of doing anything other than design. However, from that summer on, I wanted a career in construction. This path has afforded me many opportunities to learn and grow professionally and personally.

I feel empowered at JC&A and have worked on some exciting projects – Bioverativ’s 100,000 s/f biology lab in Waltham is one of my all-time favorites. Having the opportunity to mentor and pass my knowledge along to a new crop of young PCs and APMs is also empowering. It makes me so proud to witness them evolve to become more confident, capable, and responsible for managing the fantastic projects that we undertake.
