2022 Women in Construction: Elizabeth Merzigian, Sustainability Manager at Peabody Properties

Elizabeth Merzigian

Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? At Peabody Properties, Mark Dubos (director of facilities – energy management and sustainability) and Mark Regan (director of facilities) were both incredibly patient with me as I literally learned on the job. They both took the time to teach me things I didn’t know specific to how buildings operate, and encouraged me to enroll in courses and earn certifications to help the company as well as expand my own knowledge.

Within your firm, who has helped you succeed within the industry? How have they helped you? Peabody Properties principals Karen Fish-Will and Melissa Fish-Crane truly set the stage in terms of demonstrating how to be a successful woman in this industry. They have seen potential in me that I didn’t know I had at the time, and gave me opportunities to try and learn new things, which have opened up countless other possibilities for me over the years. I am so grateful for their confidence and support.
