2022 Women in Construction: Brittany McGue, 2nd Year Apprentice at LAN-TEL Communications Inc.

Brittany McGue

Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? I found myself at a point in my life where I needed to think about my future, about supporting myself and future family. I have family and friends in all different trades and they help guide me the right direction. I took it from there, and have been trying to learn as much as I can ever since.

Within your firm, who has helped you succeed within the industry? How have they helped you? Honestly, I really couldn’t narrow it down to any single name. From the office, to foreman, techs and fellow apprentices; they’ve all helped me move forward.

What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry? Whether you have previous experience or not, if you put the time and effort in, you can do it. Use your resources, ask questions, form relationships. Work hard and have confidence in yourself.
