2022 Women in Construction: Amey Bissonnette, Director of Development at Global Learning Charter Public School

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? I led an $8 million capital campaign for Global Learning Charter Public School (GLCPS), a tuition-free public charter school that serves 500 students, to fund the renovation of a historic building in New Bedford creating “One School, One Campus.” The project will be completed this year and lead to the rehabilitation of an addition three story, 18,132 s/f building. This project will allow GLCPS to reallocate classroom space and offer students an education experience rich in technology and on the leading edge of education innovation. The expanded classroom space will feature science labs, art, music and foreign language classrooms.
