2021 Women in Construction: Kaylee Pingree, Project Accountant, Jewett Construction

How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? In the past 12 months I went from a sports company focused on retail, to fiber optic communication cable manufacturing, and then finally landed in construction. The past year has given me a ton of different experiences, I found out starting over isn’t as hard as we think it is, and I gained a lot of confidence at the end of everything. A tough year, but everything was definitely worth it.

Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? My family empowered me to be part of the construction world. My father was a master electrical contractor for over 30 years and my sister is in the process of getting her journeyman’s. I’m so proud of their accomplishments and missed the family feel construction brings together. I didn’t think roles in accounting really existed in construction as most businesses are family owned and operated. I am elated and proud to be part of Jewett Construction.
