You can share frustrations and goals and they will provide an objective viewpoint, overlaying your subjective circumstances, to help view and approach career development from a practical place with your personal interests at heart. Being a mentor is sharing the benefit of your lessons learned and providing a safe space for your mentee to analyze their journey. Sometimes, being a mirror to listen and reflect-back the essence of what your mentee is grappling with. Other times, offering concrete guidance and advice. At all times, giving encouragement and support.
