How many years have you been in your current field? 15 years

What are you planning to do differently in 2020 to have a positive impact on your career? I plan to pursue my PMP certification and to increase my networking and participation in more industry events and organizations. 

What would you tell your daughter about entering this profession? Though it is significantly more diverse today versus when I started in facilities and real estate 30 years ago, it is still very much a male-dominated field that requires an ability to be confident. It’s essential to back up that confidence with experience and knowledge. Project management is complex and requires multiple skills as you will be a therapist, referee, hand holder, bean counter and manager all in the same day. Put on the shoulder pads because it takes broad shoulders to be successful.
