2020 Connecticut Forecast: Chris Edge, Economic Development Director for the Town of Berlin

Chris Edge
Town of Berlin

What are your predictions for your industry as it pertains to the commercial real estate industry in 2020?

In Central Connecticut, we foresee an uptick in activity in the industrial sector as defense spending will keep the aerospace sector growing as well as continued growth in medical devices and hardware sectors.

Near the Berlin Train Station on Farmington Ave., we are hopeful we will see some specialized medical services, new food options and other retail and services targeted to millennials and empty nesters to compliment Steele Center @ Farmington Ave (our mixed-use TOD project).

Lastly, The Shoppes and Apartments at Turnpike Ridge will break ground in 2020 and will spur interest on the Berlin Turnpike.
