What recent project or transaction are you most proud of? I am very proud of the design for PTC’s new 250,000 s/f global headquarters at 121 Seaport. PTC’s headquarters is transformational in every way: The urban location; activity-based, free address, and open concept workplace; and abundant use of technology. The workplace design truly captures the spirit of PTC and provides an innovative work environment, while offering customers an interactive showcase for experiencing PTC’s technology. The workspace’s unique radial design also aligns with the oval shape of this signature building. It’s an exciting time for PTC, and Margulies Perruzzi is proud to be an agent of that change by designing their new headquarters.

What honor, achievement or recognition means the most to you and why? With the completion of PTC’s new global headquarters, it was an honor for the project team to be recognized as a gold-level winner of the Building Design + Construction (BD+C) 2019 Building Team Awards. The project team, led by Margulies Perruzzi, the Boston office of Cresa, and Gilbane Building Company, completed the interior fit-out of PTC’s transformational and technology-rich workplace on a fast-tracked design and construction schedule. The well-orchestrated collaboration between the design, construction, and trade teams truly delivered a successful project, and it’s an honor to have this teamwork recognized.

Who inspired you to join the CRE Industry? Most people spend more of their waking hours at work than they do at home, which makes workplace design incredibly important for employee satisfaction, wellness, and productivity. As an architect, my focus is to help our clients create a workspace that is uniquely functional and inspirational to their employees and supportive of their company’s business goals. Workplace design and architecture thus goes hand in hand with commercial real estate.
