2019 Annual Review: Lisa Saunders of D.L. Saunders Companies

What was your greatest professional accomplishment in 2019?
This year we were delighted to announce that Longwood Venues + Destinations has signed a long-term lease for our historic 101 Arlington St., rebranding it as The Tower, a unique venue for events and exhibitions, private and public, national and international. In addition, having maintained a 98% occupancy rate in all our commercial and residential properties, we are grateful to our portfolio-wide tenants for their longtime loyalty to a Saunders Property.

What was your most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2019?
The Saunders Castle at Park Plaza saw exciting developments in 2019, as we joined with Imagine Exhibitions, Inc., to host “Downton Abbey: The Exhibition” in Boston! In addition, the Castle served as a filming location for a scene from Columbia Pictures’ “Little Women,” which is being released in theaters this month. Looking forward to 2020, the Saunders Castle will host the “King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh” exhibition.
