What are some of the benefits of being a mentor or having a mentor? I am committed to education in the industry and I’m most proud of seeing former students and mentees achieving their potential in their own careers. Being or having a mentor allows you to discover your authentic self. You have to have an open mind and an open heart. Developing relationships based on honesty and selflessness can help you in numerous ways. Someone once advised me to focus on the things that made me unique. That was a “light-bulb” moment when I could embrace who I have become. I am only now realizing my full potential.
