Company: LBC Boston

Years in the A/E/C Industry: 6

What associations or organizations are you a member of? International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC)

What was your most notable project in 2017? The most notable project I worked on in 2017 was also a challenging one. It was a full rehab of an existing property at 1505 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton originally constructed in 1965. In fact, it was and still is the tallest building in Brighton and the former home of Charlie Baker’s gubernatorial campaign headquarters. We turned it into Nova Residences, a six-story, 68,000 s/f building with 80 residential units – including studios, lofts and a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments that represent the highest standard of living and conveniences that modern lifestyles demand.

Why the A/E/C Industry? The A/E/C industry is constantly evolving and offers a variety of ways to advance your career. For example, I started in property management and worked my way into commercial and mixed-use development. This industry keeps me on my toes and requires constant continued education on the latest industry standards, as well as market and technology trends. I enjoy the challenge!

Advice/Keys to Success: Persistence is the key to success in this industry. You will get derailed many times along the way, but as long as you stay focused on the goal the rewards will far exceed the challenges. The industry is constantly changing so staying current also is important for success.
