2018 Women in Construction: Anna Moll, Skanska

Name: Anna Moll

Title: Business Development Manager

Company: Skanska

Years in the A/E/C Industry: 7 years

What associations or organizations are you a member of? BSCE; WTS; Skanska Women’s Network

What was your most notable project in 2017? I was a member of Skanska’s team restoring the historic Longfellow Bridge, a 110-year-old structure connecting the cities of Boston and Cambridge. On the project, I managed the design, procurement and fabrication of structural steel. I spearheaded an effort to use a 3D scanner to capture steel plate geometry for fabrication of replacement steel. By eliminating the need to collect measurements by hand, this new approach created a more efficient workflow and a safer work site. It was exciting to be a part of a technical breakthrough on such an iconic project!

If you had a mentor in your career, who was it and what did they teach you? I have been lucky enough to work for Skanska USA civil vice president Paul Pedini. He has taught me that (almost) anything is technically feasible if you think outside the box. His passion for construction and optimistic outlook has attracted and retained a longstanding team of talented engineers and managers.
